Keith and Ronnie are going to live 'till they're 100, they're basically embalmed from the inside out

Those Fender bass 6's came in real handy for guitarists back in the 60s. SFTD's bass line is pretty un-Wyman-like.

Pretty sure Keef played a standard Fender P Bass [with a pick], at least that's what I've seen him pictured with. He played bass on many recordings in the 70's.

You're probably right. Lennon and Harrison had Bass 6's. I'm not as up on Stones trivia, but do know that Keith basically is the musical end of things, Mick is the business guy.

I think your assessment of their responsibilities is spot on but I still marvel how much Keef was keen on the business end and Mick's involvement in the music. A great team for sure.

The 1 st time i saw the stones at the forum in la. I slept all nite in the parking lot, and paid 6.50 for the tix exile on main street had just come out. The place went freakin' haywire. Saw them again the next year for the nicaruaga earthquake benefit. Sticky fingers! Wild wild horses couldnt drag me away........

Here is my Rolling Stones story, and a John Lennon story as well. I used to be in the TV production business, with an office in the Plaza Hotel on 5th Ave in NYC. One morning, I get in an empty elevator off the Lobby to go to my office and in walks Keith and Patty Hanson. Keith was wearing a long overcoat and had a bottle of booze hanging out of his overcoat pocket. We all smiled at each other, not a word was said and they got off at their floor. Another time, I was bringing an early morning container of coffee from some deli to my office. Bergdorf Goodman, an upscale store, is across the street from the Plaza. As I am crossing the street, I see John and Yoko standing in front of Bergdorf's which is not yet open. John asks me what time the store opens and I reply 10 am. He says thanks and I move across the street to respectfully stare at them both from behind the fountain in front of the Plaza until the store opens. During the years that I had that Plaza Hotel office, I saw and met incidentally many stars and luminaries from other fields. But none matched the 2 chance meetings that I described above.

Thanks,
Ken
