Finally! My new Nakaya Burlwood in a 1.1 Italic!

Well guys.... I finally got my sticky fingers on one of my quests. The Nakaya Burlwood dark with a 1.1 italic nibbin!

Luscious is the word! And I usually only use that to describe my beautiful wife, but in this case she has agreed to share that description with this pen!

Enjoy the photos! Review will come soon!

The nib has a silvery color in two of the photos, but it is all 14K yellow gold.

By the way, one of the best things about the burl wood is what happens to it over time. It absorbs the natural oils of your hands / fingers and begins to take on the finest of patinas.

In a couple of years it will develope color variations just as nice aged, well used leather.

Richard, I just bought four fountain pens within the last month so any new purchases will have to wait...

5 per month should be your limit, not a measly 4!

That's it. I have to get one of these wood pen.
Congrats Richard, that really looks very nice. Any writing samples? I want to see how much line variation the 1.1 italic produces.

Thanks Kai

That looks great Richard.
I don't understand the 1.1 nib is that like a broad or double broad and how would it compare to a music nib?
I tried a music nib last week and I loved it, very smooth and quite a good amount of ink flow.

Nice Richard. Would love to see a picture with the nib section out. Does it use a converter?

One correction guys. This is not the 1.1 Italic, but about a .65 to a .85 Italic nib. I don't know what I was thinking, but I obviously didn't look at the point very closely. The 1.1 is definitely on my short list, but the line variations are just excellent on this one also. And it is sssssmmmmmmoooooottttthhhhhh!

Sorry for my error!

That's a beauty, Richard, congrats! I've been drooling over a Decapod for a while now. Nakaya makes superb pens, and the nibs are legendary.

BTW, what ink is that you have load into it? Some shade of green?
