I'm still waiting for the punchline!
Man, I hope this is some kind of joke.

There is some stuff to clear up here.. I have had a long talk with Steve tonight. He will post when he has more and has worked through these issues. Things need to be put right and I sincerely hope they will be. I really do.

Let's hope whatever it is gets cleared up.
Tristian is a big asset to WatchOut and the community. Like others have said I hope this is just a big misunderstanding.

Steve has done the right thing, a simple warning to be careful is enough. There is no reason to crucify someone over a possible misunderstanding.

I just got off the phone with Tristan, I don't want to say too much but there is a lot that needs to be cleared up, but we need an explanation from all parties involved. The seed has been sewn and now we must conduct damage control. Not sure how I got involved in this but FWIW, I believe Tristan is a good guy and he is going through some family problems as the moment, out of the country and also what appears to have been a horrible FedEx nightmare. I have offered to re-post anything he would like for me to post for him and so have several others here on TRF.

I've always believed Tristan to be a nice guy, especially with the recent hospitality and generosity he showered on our friend, Dalip and his family. I'm sure this can be somehow sorted out................hopefully!! JJ

It's hard for me to understand what happened. For an entry of this ranking, it should follow more info than just stay away.
I am sure that this is a misunderstanding that will be sorted out. My guess someone have to made an apology but at the moment I can't figure it out who.

I believe Tristan to be an honest & genuine guy & I'm sorry to hear of his loss.
I'm sure this is either a joke or a huge misunderstanding.

You are 100% correct. Let's hear Tristan's side before jumping to any conclusions. That's what I am thinking. I am shocked that his name was in the same sentence as this. I opened the thread thinking it was a joke as well.

OK gents, Tristan asked me to post this for him, it has not been edited, I am simply posting it the way it was sent to me via email as he has no way of logging on the forum from where he is at at the moment.

I am "relatively" new here to TRF having been posting only since the latter part of April and early May, so I don't know the specifics concerning relationships amongst members.
This thread intrigues me and obviously many others. Normally, I don't get involved in other's business, but by posting this the OP has invited us to be curious. In other words, WTF is going on?? More information please. |

No, the OP was simply trying to stop something before it happened, in other words he was attempting to save yours and everyone's arse. Taking into consideration what had been going on lately, he was simply trying to stop any members from a potential fraudulent deal. I am not taking sides, I was drug into this because of geography. Tristan asked me to help him out and post his email, and I did. SteveO called me this afternoon asking if I knew anything of Tristan and I spoke with him about that. IMO, I believe this is nothing more than a simple misunderstanding, Tristan, for what I know of him is a good guy. When I spoke to him today in the phone he was very upset about the entire ordeal, that plus he has the unfortunate task of dealing with a dying family member. I do know what to think at this point, I just hope it is solved, and solved quickly.

Sage advice. Tread lightly around the OP and his comments. He is the head honcho.

It's great that so many of you guy's are vouching for Tristan's integrity. It's one of the reasons that the forum is so special.
Having said that, Tristan needs to give Steve his money back NOW. Too much time has elapsed and too many excuses have floated into the ether. As Paul (ParisDakarBmw) rightly said an old story doesn't help the injured party. Time is of the essence. Once Steve's money is safely back in his possession then we can all discuss the technical difficulties and bad luck and/or timing. Until then the situation is very serious. I also suggest that the tourists keep their unhelpful comments of this thread please.
