For those of you who recall the great "Pig Neighbor" saga...

Apparently they skipped out on the rent in the dead of night and are now gone - pig and all.:cla p:

Champagne cork popped.

(and if he has not notified his Probation Officer, he gets to spend a year in a 6X9 cell....just to be neighborly, I left the PO a voice mail just now)

Great news, Nat. Now ask if you can purchase the property from the landlord/owner and tear the place down before somebody else moves in !

God I'd love to buy it...

It is a 3 BR where the back windows overhang the best trout stream in 50 miles - Why this idjit landlady doesn't rent it for $2000/week in the Summer and list it in the Wall St Journal is beyond me.

You can LITERALLY fly fish from the living room.

Do a google maps search for 301 sanborn rd monmouth maine and pull up the sattelite view...it's the house directly overhanging the stream.

Make her a fair offer for As Is. This latest headache may be the excuse she needs to dump it.
I'm considering buying a huge historic house that is in some disarray due to a prolonged ugly divorce and a rent gone bad, complete with eviction. His files are still stacked outside the side door. We were looking at it this weekend. The main problem is that it is a protected historic house, and I don't think that I want those headaches every time I want to do something. My brother owned one in VA a while back. The realtor painted a painful picture re its classification. Apparently some famous architect built it for some Philly big wig 80 some years ago. The taxes are also painful as it is on 4 lots.

I think Brian's onto something there. Now may be a good time to jump in with an offer while the lady is contemplating the upcoming less-than-palatable refurbishment.
