Those 51's are remarkable pens eh Jim. I am loving my broad nib one, you can write for hours with them. I also like the really easy clean aerometric filling system. All pens should have that!

Have you thought of having your Pelikans nib ground to an extra fine?

Leo, my sentiments many times over. While I've seen some fabulous writing examples with broad and flex nibs, I just can't write like that but wish I could. Glad to see someone else has a preference such as me. As a suggestion, if you haven't tried the Sailor EF, you owe it to yourself. Smooth, and a super fine line. They do have a "needlepoint" (I forget the name) which is even finer, but have heard it is difficult to use as a 'daily writer.'

Ian, I have, but never pursued it. I have a couple of pens that also need some "work." That recent 1964 Capless nib makes the pen unusable in my opinion. I also have an old lever-fill Sheaffer that needs a new sac. The Pelikan, and a Parker Insignia, work well, but I have considered having the nibs "fine tuned."

I was thinking of sending the Sheaffer off to Pentiques, back in Ohio, but have been lazy (for several years now. ) One of these days... Guess I just need to get off my duff so I can enjoy these pens.

Jim, Thanx for the information on the Sailor FPs with the extra fine nib. I will have to check them out.....
As for writing small, I used to practice writing small with a mechanical pencil while I was bored in elementary school. I can actually write small enough that you need a magnifying glass to see it.....

Thanks Ian! Im a big fan of the Boheme line. For me the size is spot on and while the weight of my Boheme Plat Plated is much heavier than the resin (pictured) they both work well.
