Rolex Repair
My Presidential is 20 years old. Just had it cleaned for the first time, new mainspring, and now it doesn't keep time, even after three tries by a local repairer. I started using a watch winder, but it's no better. Does anyone know of a reliable watch repairer in the Cape Cod or Boston area?

Take it to someone that knows what they are doing. Trust me. I went through the same thing with a local, supposedly "reputable" watchmaker earlier this year. The jack*ss could not get it right. I ended up sending it down to Rik Dietel of Time Care Inc in FL. He did a bang up job!

There are a lot of parts that a Rolex trained and contracted watchmaker should replace besides just the mainspring...
You don't say how far off your timing is, but a watch only 20 years old should be able to be brought back to near new condition during a proper service... Check with a couple of local AD's and see if you have a contracted Rolex watchmaker in town...

3 tries at the watchmaker? Did he actually service it, or did he just assume the mainspring was the problem? If it was running fast, maybe he just swapped in a new mainspring because that is what can happen when the mainspring gets dirty or dry. I would take it to a different watchmaker who may have more experience working with Rolex movements. If it was cleaned and lubricated properly it will last another 20 years no problem.
