Can't believe it....I'm doing something I said I wouldn't do...

...selling a Rolex.......

Just put it up locally for sale (not here).

Don't have anything in mind, but I just don't desire it anymore. I even kept the stickers from when I peeled them off!

Farewell pic...

PS, please don't contact me about buying it. I want a face to face where I live.

Just out of curiosity, why don't you desire it anymore? How long have you had it? Is it your only watch / rolex? Are you in the market for another high end type of watch.

I only ask because I'm someone that is looking to buy my first rolex - just wondering why you are done with yours and sending it away, in other words, why the change.

Hope it sells quick for you - nice looking watch!

I'm just more of a matte/satin kind of guy. Found out the hard way.

Nothing definite in my mind. There are always watches I want, but nothing I'm wanting soooooo badly right now. All the watches I really want are too $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

The Rolex on my mind....Smuf. (gawd I wish they made it in SS).
The Panerai on my mind...217. (I'd wear it on my right hand).
The JLC on my mind...Diving Alarm Navy Seals (looks better IRL than in pics)
The BP on my mind...50 fathoms (although it is blingy...)
Would love to see the Linde Werdelin line in the metal.
I could keep going if you'd like....

Man, it has only been on CL for a few min and I'm thinking about pulling it.

I don't even want to wear it, just want to put it in a dry dark place for 5 years.

What is wrong with me!

Mik...sounds like you're in two minds....personally I wouldn't sell it..I'd only trade:)

Otherwise keep it...I know I go through phases...if you don't have to move it then allow yourself not to love it anymore....rather than wondering why you don't and constantly rolling those thoughts around!

And there's nothing wrong with you....that's not wrong with most of us here!

I feel you, I hate selling anything from my collection....But lately I have let a few go that were just not getting the wrist time. That said, of my modern pieces, the IIC is probably my favorite. I definitely go through cycles, but I do not think I could bring myself to sell it. Good luck!

My GMTCII gets the most wrist time of all my watches,it is my daily wearer. However what works for one does not work for all of us.

However I agree with the prior post as it might be best to hang onto it until you are ready to trade for your next one.

Mik, if you don't need the proceeds of the sale to fund another watch right now, might you not be ahead to just sit on the GMT for a while and see whether it grows on you?

It sounds like it's the right time to let her go to me. You've thought about it long and hard already. Set it free, set it free....

Mik, I know you've thought about letting the GMT go for a while now, so don't second guess yourself if you're sure you won't miss it.

Feelings change over time....as does taste. Nothing is wrong with you for wanting to let it go in favor of 'less bling'. Wear what you like!

I just bought one from a member here on TRF. I can't wait to receive it in the mail and hope that I won't have the same feelings as you. I sold my rhodium roman dial DJ because it was too blingy for my taste. I don't think I'll feel the same way about the GMT though.
