16618 Submariner
I just got a 16618 Submariner and I need to know the correct movement that goes in this watch. It is an L serial number. Thanks.

Alright...that matches the information I found. However, my watchmaker has been unable to get the 3135 movement to fit in the case. He says it is an alignment issue. He thinks the 3035 movement will drop right in, but I will not know that for a few days. Is there any chance it came from Rolex with a 3035? Also, my watchmaker is good with Rolex...he has been servicing them for years. So, he is not making a mistake, in my opinion. Thanks for all of your input.

The 3135 movement was introduced in ~1988, the same time that the L serials were coming on the market...
I would say that it may very well have had a 3035 movement.. ![]()
