5513 dial - what year was this from?
Just purchased this 5513 yesterday. Wondering what year this dial is from? How about hands. I have seen mostly T < 25 at the bottom, but this one just says "Swiss" and has WG surrounds on the hour markers.
It's a 1.7M (circa '67) that went through $2,200 worth of work at RSC recently. Love the look and won't likely try to restore it to original dial, bezel insert, etc, but just wondering what I've got. |

Not the original bezel insert or dot, either.......

As others have mentioned, the dial, hands, and insert.
I would like to see a better picture of the clasp. |

I'd venture to guess the only part of that watch still from 67 is the movement, caseback, and case after it's service..as long as you like it enjoy it!!

Yep, RSC did over $2k of work before I got it, which is fine. Just wondering if any new 5513's ever had this dial.

I think it looks fantastic - I have no problem with the replacement parts as long as they are genuine. Lovely watch.

First it looks fantastic.
Second, I hope you're not upset that all the characteristics that made it a vintage watch are gone. |

I'm not upset, I bought it this way ... RSC put $2.2k into this one. To some, they devalued the watch. To me, they made it possible for me to go vintage without having to put a ton of money into the watch to make it wearable, comfortable, and accurate.
I didn't want a money pit. I guess it's like old furniture ... the worst thing you can do is to refinish it. But, to me it's just amazing to have something this perfect being so old at heart. Maybe someday, I'll purchase a age appropriate dial and hands to make it looks it's age, but I'm loving it the way it is ... terrific lume as well. |

Wish I could have the parts that came off this one as I'm pretty sure that despite Rolex (RSC) doing so much work on it, it must have arrived at the RSC is pretty darn good shape. Makes me wonder what the RSC's do with all the "old" parts they remove and replace with new service parts. Do they sell the matt dials, etc? |
