Really..

I got a valuation at a jewellery shop and was told the gold & white gold is 18k and the diamonds & red rubies were all genuine. Was offered £960 and was told that's all the shop could afford the person said go to Oxford Street, London

Where i would get reasonably a lot more. Are you guys sure this is fake if so what makes you think so..

Well perhaps it is real gold and perhaps those are real rubies, but I'm reasonably sure it is not a real rolex. I can't imagine why someone would use real materials in a counterfeit watch. Perhaps one of the more knowledgeable experts can chime in. Does such a thing (real gold and jems + fake watch) really exist?

Thanks for quick reply guys..

Yes from what i hear the gold which is normal cross white gold is 18k like i said the diamonds are real and the red things are rubies. This was given to my girlfriend as a gift by her mother. we have every intention of selling it the reason I'm here is to find out it's true value.

At first i thought it was fake

To be offered just under a thousand pound (£960) at a first glance led us to believe the watch is 100% genuine and could be worth a lot more we gave ernest jones a call and they wanted us to send it off to be checked properly. not a chance.!! they also asked for papers.!!

Something we can not provide can anybody tell me what type of rolex this is or is meant to imitate if it is fake-(which i doubt to be honest)

Say like a rolex explorer. what would this come under in ladies rolex
sorry to keep being a pest but I'm no expert whatsoever.

Here are some more blown up images for you guys.

Not a chance that anything on that watch is real, chuck it in the bin.

add up the value of the gold and the diamonds etc... and you got your value. Its worth whatever the materials are worth (if they are even real)

And you believe this because...??

I really need details mate like say... ''Oh yeah Rolex never did make a watch with red rubies'' or ''Never did make a watch with white gold..''

What leads you to think this is fake and why has a professional said otherwise when checked with a magnify glass and wieghd with scales. He said it's very valuable why would he lie.

$1 worth of cubic zirconia
$0.004 worth of gold plate.
12c worth of red glass.

OP Ill gladly trade you for a half empty warm can of guinness, it may have a few cig butt ends floating in it but according to your jeweler the extra weigh must just mean there is gold inside.

I hate to appeal to authority here, but this site is full of people who collect Rolex as a hobby and have seen every kind you can imagine. That is not a real Rolex. I understand this might be disappointing but Rolex has never made anything like that. It reeks of poor quality.

IF it was real, which it is not, a precious metal Rolex drenched in diamonds and rubies is worth tens of thousands of dollars.

If I were you, I'd take the offer of £960 quoted by your professional jeweller/examiner and laugh all the way to the bank.

I'd even by your future mother in law a small thank-you gift too.

Your watch is a fake, and a poor one at that!!

I highly doubt it's content is anything other than plated gold.

If you purchased this under the intent it was a real Rolex, you were scammed, and should try to recuperate your funds.
If you're trying to pass this off as a genuine Rolex, think twice.

This thread is now in the "watchout" section where it belongs!

Enough has been said here.
