Question to mods
Not trying to ruffle any feathers, just curious.
Some members that have been "banned" still show with a member name & Banned underneath. Others show as "Guest" with banned under. Is there a difference or is this just old vs new software? Thanks

You know, it's kinda funny, John. But, aside from a couple of threads with some pics of your vacation and a joke or two here and there, You only post in a very few threads in reply to a small handful of members or if the thread involves Panerai. Yet, now you decide to become a little more active and post this.
Leave it alone, John.

and maybe thats why John posts in the Watches (non-Rolex) Forum and not in the Rolex forum.

And probably also because if you dont own a Rolex on The Rolex Forums, then there might not be that much you can respond too.....
Geez... whats going on here??? I think his question is completely legitimate. I tried to PM one of my buddies on here and I cant now... I'd like to know what happened too. |

You've got me stumped, John. I don't know enough about the ins and outs of vBulletin to know how or why this would happen.
In any case, if a member's been banned, the name that shows up doesn't really matter since the account's no longer active. I'd be concerned if it was doing that to a live account because it might affect a member's ability to post properly, but for an inactive one it really doesn't make any net difference.

My initial question, reading it again was not 100% clear. To summarize, I noticed under one persons old posts, his User name was still present. Under the others posts, it appeared as GUEST. I was surmizing that possibly one was a permanent ban , the other temporary. Nothing further. Thanks
