I have Bridgestone Duelers on my Rover. If you're getting a lot of ice/snow, why not just get dedicated winter wheels and snow tires? I don't get enough snow for that to make sense, but I don't live anywhere near Canada.

I'd try Michelin, Continental or German Dunlops if they are available there.

Good choices, as X-SCCA racer, I would also add BFGoodrich, but personally I tend to stick with Dunlop on the street.

I agree that a set of dedicated snow tires on their own rims is the way to go. If you plan on owning your vehicle for at least 2 more winters dedicated rims makes economic sense. I had an X3 and it was great in the snow of Upstate NY with just all seasons. Snow tires would make it unstoppable. I went to Pirelli's and saw some premature wear but not too bad. I just bought another set of Pirelli's for my 328 and two of them wore out after only 12,000 miles. No more for me.
If you go the dedicated route I recommend Blizzak's. They are great in the snow and reasonably priced.

X2 on the Bridgestone Duelers - just make sure they are the Revos and not the HT.

Shaved? Still got a contingency deal?

I was cheaper, I ran Kumho

Some thoughts on the X3...
Best Rated: Continental ExtremeContact DWS
Alternate: Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus

The Dunlop treads for the X3 are mostly Summer Only.
