sir

If they are that dishonest better have the watch checked. Something does not feel right with these guys. Something is off here. I hope the watch is okay.

It's amazing how little attention is given to positive posts, but if one is filled with backseat drivers spitting venom - all of a sudden it becomes a highest 'trending' thread.

You didn't offend me at all I just didn't know that line was from a movie specially since you didn't quote it or added a smiley.

I went to bed after that last post. Reading it this AM, I figured it was from an old western movie .....now I remember the home alone clip!

FWIW: No harm done at any point here/never felt offended.

I guess you're unfamiliar with buying art and furniture and jewelry, where "original" means just that, as it was from its first creation--in the sense of being the very same parts or surfaces.

Carry on.

On the contrary, ask 1966-oyster and outtatime, the last two guys I bought from, how that transaction proceeded AFTER I bought and received the watch they sold me. (Jon, Kevin, go ahead and tell them). The Tudor I got from Jon only had 2 removable links. Should it have come with more? I don't know. Do I care? NO! I got what I thought was such a great deal on a watch that looks brand new that it doesn't matter to me! Similarly, the 43 year old Air-King I got from Kevin looks brand new and I feel I got a great deal from him as well. It originally came with an Oyster bracelet but he sold it to me with a strap. Do I care that I didn't get the Oyster with it? NO! Because I got what I thought was a good deal on it. I think $6600 for a Rootbeer GMT is a little pricey, even if it came with all the links, but when it's missing 2 links, then it's overpriced. I'm NOT looking for handouts. I just want what I think is fair, and Jake is just playing with semantics, both on his website and his explanation here.
So if u would have gotten a GOOD deal on the watch then the so called missing links would have been ok??? I think u paid to much... And it's bothering u just a little bit

I'd go on record to say that I would not be put off from purchasing a watch from them, though I would be a little more skeptical about the 100% guaranteed satisfaction declaration.

Sayin' that, I know for a fact I'd not be the slightest bit concerned about buying from Greg's Company and would bypass SWE given the opportunity to choose between the two.

That little bit of difference between Greg and this other Company, it counts for a lot.

It's the difference between 4.9/5 and 5/5.

Yeah, paying $6,000.00+ to get yelled at over a phone query, post sale, is expensive, don't you think?

I am just wondering, Mark-O, have you decided to send the watch back and just get a refund on what has become for you a tainted purchase? It appears that you are within your rights to reverse the transaction (given their satisfaction guarantee). Why not just refuse to do business with them, get your money back and walk away?

Why only 18 links Paul, don't you want it on a full length Jubilee bracelet?

Hang tight, let me contact Mouthwash and see just how upset he is... Maybe buyer's remorse will take over sober logic, maybe not.

Is it weird that I now have this picture in my head of a watch with enough links to be worn around someone's waist as a belt? And weirder still that I hope someone on the forum with access to a few hundred links actually does it? The answer to that question is "yes, brian. very weird indeed."

Anyway, again I hope this situation gets resolved and I still think poor post-purchase customer service on Swiss Watch Expo's part is enough to keep me away. There are too many great sellers on TRF and elsewhere.

As an aside, I hope nobody confuses "Swiss Watch Expo" with "Watch Expo" in Southern California (the latter deals mostly in Patek timepieces). The Watch Expo guys (Paul and Nick) are fantastic.

With all due respect (you know what's coming next can't be good when that introductory language is used), this has nothing to do with "back seat drivers spitting venom." Rather, it has to do with a well-respected member here being screwed by a seller lacking integrity and failing or refusing to make full disclosure in any meaningful sense. Greg, I have the utmost respect for you given all of the excellent things I've read about you. If you were the seller in this situation, I have every confidence that you would have described the watch appropriately, informed potential buyers of any missing item, and done the right thing if something went awry with the transaction; I don't think you would yell at a customer who just spent close to $7K on a watch over 2 links. That simply cannot be said of this seller, and many of us are p*ssed off about it because it could happen to any one of us. This seller, who to date appears to continue in his failure or refusal to do the right thing by sending the 2 links, free of charge or at all, deserves to be excoriated given his unacceptable conduct. This is not a buyers versus sellers thing ... it's a matter of holding people accountable for being, at a minimum, misleading.

Now, Greg, please furnish to me that 18 link TT jubilee bracelet with the LNIB or NOS Root Beer GMT for $5K delivered. Thanks.

I'm keeping it, because I know I'll get screwed again if I send it back. It still is a nice watch.

Well, if you did, then you would know this has nothing to do with buyers remorse.

Then again, I'm not surprised at your comments... You've always disagreed with anything I posted anyway, not that I will lose sleep over it.
