Is there a better place to go watch shopping than Hong Kong?

If there is I would love to know! I just spent my first full day in HK and I am completely blown away by the amount of watch stores and boutiques. I wasn't even sesrching for it but must have passed at least six Rolex boutiques and boutiques from brands I've never seen like Richard Mille.

Combine the boutqiues with the stores that sell multiple brands (ala Tourneau) and all the grey/black market shops, I have never seen anything like it in my life. I done a decent amount of travelling worldwide and have never seen any city come close to what HK has to offer. I woudn't be surprised if Dubai or Abu Dhabi had a fair amount though. I live in NYC and I can say without hesitation HK has probably ten times the amount of watch stores/boutiques as NYC.

Anyways, just came to say that, now back to my vacay. Would love to get your experiences/thoughts.

We are truly blessed! Be sure to enjoy your stay!

If you do have the time I would really recommend checking out the vintage watch dealers in the Tsim Sha Tsui area. Great selection!

Out of all the places in Asia I have been, Taiwan is hands down the best for watches.

The economy is on the down over there, I just bought several new Rolex's last month in Taiwan with great discounts. Plus if you have a foreign passport, you can get all the taxes refunded to you at the airport.

The AD's there are amazing. They have everything in stock, stainless daytonas, hulks, etc..

=)

Not even close although the "other reasons" make it a worthwhile visit.

well in China I found loads of watches - everywhere, every type and at less than 10% of the European prices - truly bargains eh!!! none of them at AD's mind you, they didn't come with boxes ( well some did for a few extra $ ) so surely that's the best place eh ;o)
