New Seamaster Mesh Bracelet vs. Older Style Mesh

Sorry if this is an obvious question. It seems to me that the latest generation of mesh bracelets for the Planet Ocean models is a lot different than the previous version. I am asking because I have not been able to locate a current generation mesh model in my area to compare. The previous version with the spring adjustable diver extension was very cool but rather bulky. It seems they have gone away from that style for something less bulky. Is this the case or am I totally missing something?

How do they compare? Which do you guys prefer?

The newer has a thicker clasp (too thick IMHO). It also has enclosed ends where it meets the case. Also $300-$370 vs over $1000 for the new one.

I prefer the older style with the airplane buckle. Here is mine on my PO. I was lucky to find mine Like New with extension piece for $300.

I was thinking the buckle was too big as well. I did like the spring loaded adjustment though.

Buckle not big at all on the older style. Huge (IMHO) on the newer one.

I took a look at the new one at my local AD the other day, it's pretty nice and has a button you press to make the bracelet bigger should your wrist swell during the day.
