"First Omega in Space" Speedmaster
Some of you may recall that I intended to build a custom "First Speedmaster in Space" back in 2004. I went as far as fabricating this caseback:
with the insignia of Schirra's capsule, Sigma 7. Circumstances did not permit me to complete the project but perhaps I can still use the caseback someday. BTW, I just got off the phone with my longtime dealer and he has just gotten four more "First Omega in Space" numbered editions in stock. |

When I placed my order back in March, I convinced him that this one would be a hot item so he placed a large order. |

I apologize but I'm not following. Tried to search for the original post from 2004 but no luck. Were you building the entire watch yourself, making your own case, ect...? Was the Speedmaster only marketed the first on the moon, not the first in space?
Project seems interesting. Would love to know more about. |
