Anyone have any good recommendations?

My recommendation is never to wear a NATO on a Speedy Pro, or any other watch for that matter.

Dirt and grit will accumulate between the strap and the watch which over time, will damage the case back. If you must wear a NATO, always cover the case back with tape to prevent damage.

I prefer to use two piece straps with the NATO-look. I particularly like the canvas Velcro straps by http://www.bandrbands.com/.

Here is their Bond model on my custom cal 2824 beater:

Fr. John gives a great example of a Nato-looking strap. However, it will not keep the watch in place if one of the spring bars fail (which is the point of the Nato strap). Just wanted to point this out in case the OP was not aware of the intended function of the Nato. Putting a protective adhesive on the caseback is excellent advice if you decide to get a traditional Nato.

Fr. John...Great looking "beater"! Love the size of the markers and hands. All the lume must make it great in the dark. Thanks for sharing!

I respect fr John and his well reasoned opinions. However I love natos. Honestly haven't used them for about a year. But back with them. Tape is a good idea.

I'm with Fr. John on NATO straps. In addition to scratching the back of the watch, I think they look flimsy and cheap on a nice watch like an Omega.

I have worn ZULU straps on inexpensive watches and enjoyed them, but never on a good watch like an Omega.

Here is a ZULU that looks right on the watch, IMO. Cheers, Bill P.

Panatime sells the thickest Nato/zulu straps I have encountered.
