Opinions on Tudor 9101/0 please
So I found a local guy selling a Tudor 9101/0, 38mm, two-tone, white dial. As you can see below, his pictures are terrible so I really can't gather much from them. No box or papers but says we can go to a jeweler to have it authenticated. Per his description, it's in excellent condition and "runs perfect." He is the original owner and bought it in the early 80s. It's never been serviced before.
Hard to tell if this it's authentic but his offer to go to a jeweler to have it authenticated somewhat addresses the concern that this is a fake. I'm not too familiar with this watch in particular and how the movement is. I do like the design but is this even a watch worth looking into? How much are these things actually worth? He's asking $700. I figure I'll have to get it serviced if I end up buying it. So any tips in terms of how much to pay, what to look for when I see the watch, where to service it, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! |

Difficult to say anything meaningful with these pics. Two of the pics show a Tudor Clasp with outer Tudor shield logo and inner Rolex markings. That's strange. Should either be all Rolex, or all Tudor. Cyclops magnification (the loupe over the date window) shows a very limited amount of magnification as well. Another telltale sign of potential trouble. Might be the angle of the picture.
Case back engravings look etched, not stamped, but the pictures are so poor that its difficult to say anything definitive. |
