116622 Yatch Master
I recently added a Yacht Master to my collection.
To my thinking a Yacht Master is a Submariner with a platinum bezel instead of a ceramic bezel. It has the same functions and same water proof ratings. I think the platinum bezel looks sharp and does a nice job showing off the blue dial. I like the way Rolex has polished the center links on the oyster bracelet. The watch is much heavier than my Explorer II but still wears very comfortably. The Yacht Master felt heavier than a Submariner. I assume it is because of the platinum bezel. |

Nice. The more I see this watch the more I like it.
What made you choose the Blue dial over the Platinum one? Also, the bezel is bi-directional, correct? |

The bezel is bi-directional. I didn't like the look of the platinum dial. The blue dial looks terrific. Also, it is hard to tell the difference between a 16622 and a 116622 when they have the same dial.

Congrats, love the blue YM. Actually, the water proof rating for the Sub is higher than the YM.

I noticed that the water proof rating is higher on the Sub. On a practical basis most people will never dive below the 100 meter range of the YM.

Dan- Do you mean that the yachtmaster feels much heavier than the old or newly released Explorer II ?

The only different I know is the brecelet (spelling???) It´s a "better" one on 116622, at least the clasp.

There are three major changes:
1. New 3135 movement 2. Chromalight markers on the dial 3. Easylink clasp |

The blue dial looks amazing, such a nice colour. Much nicer, for me anyway, to have different colour dials, just bit more fun.

So, did I miss something being away from here so much?
They have upped the depth rating of the YM?
