Google Reader (RSS) replacement?

Has anyone found an acceptable replacement for Google Reader? I live on Google Reader on my IMac and Feddler Pro on iPad.

Now that Google is shutting Reader down I am having trouble on acceptable alternative.

What are folks here doing for replacement?

Chuck

Here's a search for replacements.

Feedly has gotten a lot of positive press.

Also annoyed by the Google policy that does not want to hear their customers...

Have tried few alternative and got along quite well with the free version of FeedDemon...

To be fair, Google never tried to place ads on Reader or charge for its use. It produces zero revenue. So, by definition, there are no customers - just free users.

Social Media and pure mobile push supplanted RSS for the last 3 generations of new web users.

Feedly has made conversion simple - a one click migration of all your feeds. It is something you can jump into easily while pondering a personal long-term info management strategy. http://techland.time.com/2013/06/19/...ader-shutdown/

But my best advice is to embrace this Google surprise as a wake-up call to fetch news differently. RSS is going the way of the buggy whip - just a matter of time...

Interesting, what do you see as replacing RSS?, is there new technology out there.

Does Feedly transfer over your tagged items? I used Google Checkouk and transfered to feedly but on feeds came over not all my tagged articles for past couple years. i would hate to lose all this info.

Thanks

Chuck

It isn't a technology replacing RSS so much a philosophy of info mgmt. and web trends supplanting RSS's relevance in the future. A shift from individual, personal feeds into your own reader to group sourcing of information via social media, presence and mobile platforms.

As for Feedly, there are Feedly forums with more informed developers than me. If enough folks want features that aren't there yet, the community gets reaction from Feedly directly. In fact, many new features were released just last week as Google announced the demise of Reader.

Feedly is pretty darn good as it happens, and great customer care too on twitter.
