In my "stable", my favorite cheap watch is my Citizen Eco-Drive World Perpetual. I keep it out so it gets some indirect sunlight, so it's always on the correct time, always on the correct date.
This is the watch I would wear (and have worn) overseas if I expected to bring home and expensive watch on my trip. That way I wouldn't have to worry about the locations of two expensive watches simultaneously (or have to carry proof of purchase for the older watch). What do I not like about it? The links (left to right) alternate with 3 brushed and 2 bright. The bright scratch easily, so the whole bracelet looks a little beat up. But unless I go polish or brush all of them (and I am not sure if I can... the bright might just be a chrome finish?) then it's always going to look a little down trodden. Also the GMT function is FINE for changing time zones (travel) but not as useful as the Rolex GMT bezel which I use at least once a week to quickly calculate times in Asia or Germany where I have colleagues and customers.

$19.50
Found the first dive watch I ever bought (back in 1989) on eBay for $19.50. Good to have it back.

Still depend on my Seiko Pepsi diver 7526-0020 (Japan) that I picked up in Saudi in the late 90s for $200.

I actually just got this new Tissot Powermatic 80 as an alternative to my Datejust as I don't always want a steel watch on. I have had very good luck with Tissot in the past

How about some suggestions for an inexpensive but good quality lady's watch? I'd like to pick up something to fill in while my Tudor Princess is being overhauled. It is weird to keep looking at my wrist and there is no watch there! Thanks!

Define inexpensive. Longines makes quality time pieces for both sexes.

Another G-shock vote.
The only watch I cannot destroy. My weekender is a Ball Trieste. Not really "cheap" but the most expensive watch that I can wear without guilt of bunging it up. |
