difference between endlinks 1655

Who can telle me what the difference between the 280 and 380 endlinks is? I have two bracelets for my 1655, the original with 380 and the replacement with 280 end links. It seems that both are correct for the watch.

I noted that the 280 is held in place by the pin and the 380 doesn't need the pin to stay in place. Is that the only difference?

Enquiring minds on a rainy day when I wanted to go away on my racebike.....

Regards

Correct. 380 is fixed and 280 is loose.

Ok That's simple. But why the difference? 280 easier to manufacture and fix to the bracelet I assume? But why then make the 380 version?
