AP ROO Panda. Owned the DSSD and it is a wonderful watch, but it is still a Sub movement in a bigger case.

Price range is all over the place...however, given what you are looking for, probably the GMT.

I have a Sub as well as a few APs (and also owned the Panda before) and the Sub or GMT does go with everything.

If your plan is to get a beater Sub, then yes, I'd get the Panda 100% from that list and use it for night/weekend activities. As a one and only, no, I wouldn't do it. The higher SS bezel will catch hairlines no matter what, and it looks a bit strange at a formal event.

The 5167 looks a bit too boring to me, but a 5164 seems to be interesting

GMT BLNR would be the best place to start, it is truly an all purpose watch and will certainly hold up to the day to day anything you can dish out.

the Aquanaut is also a fantastic watch but i don't see it being quite as versatile/robust as the GMT … however if you are considering getting a sub, i would move this to the top! it also appears to fit great on your wrist

The AP's are amazing but a bit more in your face than the above, only you know if this works for you based on your daily surroundings.

the DSSD is loved by many, also a bit more in your face, but if its rolex you decide on, i would choose the GMT over it every time.

Yes I saw him in an interview where he said he wears the most basic model rather than the latest or most complicated as those are for the customer and he did not want to be seen wearing one while they were still waiting for theirs. Good attitude.
