Need help with a Gent's DJ Tiger Eye dial
It's a Gent datejust with feet (approx 28mm wide). It's in very good condition. I spent a lot of time comparing it to one at Christie's ( https://onlineonly.christies.com/s/t...e-dial-6/2242/ ) and IMO everything lines up perfectly on the dial.
However, Christie's didn't post a pic of the back of the dial, and I can't find a pic of the back of it anywhere (I can't even find a loose gent's DJ dial for sale anywhere on the interwebs, including eBay. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Here are a ton of pics: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks. My main concern was there were no markings of any kind on the back of the dial (as your has). I notice the tack marks on yours also, does yours have sticks/markers? Could you post a pic of the face please.
Did Rolex ever produce dials during more recent years with no stamping on the back? Also, were these produced in a long enough run to have been made in different houses and/or with other differences from one "generation" of dial to the next, which might explain markings vs. no markings? The one I have matches the font of the Christie's one to a letter, including the serif, subtle differences in the "S"s in different words, the shape of J in datejust, coronet shape, letter alignment relative to other words, etc etc. I compared those to one sold on Maron's website, and there were difference between me/Christie and his (biggest glaring difference was his had no "T" around swiss. I put more weight on the Christie's one, well because...you know... While there's obviously no trit on the dial, I assumed my and Christie's dials mark T due to the hands?? I want to put it for sale but I started this thread to be certain it's legit. It is what it is...if it's junk, then I'll toss it. Any more info you could give would be much appreciated.

If you go by the Morons website you're bound to get screwed.

I second that statement!
Can you post a pic of the face of yours? If it has stick markers, maybe that explains the difference in the backs?

Ok thanks. And I found some faint numbers and circular groove marks on the dial looking at it under magnification, as though the backside was sanded/ground down for some reason. I'll try and get pics of those.

Thanks for the pics but I thought from reading your first post, you were showing me the back of a tiger eye dial for comparison. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Need help with a Gent's DJ Tiger Eye dial
Sorry, I left out two important words (tiger eye)!
I found a few loose DD tiger eye dials on internet, and a few ladies DJ (the kind without feet) but not gents DJ. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
