Adice on a Speedmaster.

Chaps

I am seriously toying with the idea of buying a Speedmaster Pro 3570.50.

Iconic Watches are offering a new one ( I can't show it as their website is down at the moment) and I was wondering if there is a difference between a new one and an older one.

The new one has the plastic dial, is wind up and has a solid back with engraving. I don't want a see through as it is a bit too gimmicky.

I like the idea of buying new as it will be a keeper but all I want to know, is it as good as the original.

Regards

Mick

The 3750.50 Speedmaster has a different movement than the original "moon watch" - 1861 vs. 321. The 321 movements were produced until the late 60's IIRC.

Omega moved to the 861 movement at around that time, and has continued producing Speedmasters in that caliber until today, with some very minor changes.

All in all, its a great & iconic watch and won't be different in any significant way from one produced 20 or 30 years ago.

Yes, the new movement is the 1861, updated variant of the 861. The only other major difference in the 3570.50 over the years is the bracelet has been upgraded a few times.

Good luck in the hunt!
