Here is my 5513 MF sub with a NATO strap from Phoenix. Sub variants are a matter of personal preference I love the matte dial look so the "no date" is the direction I chose.

OP here. Just a quick update. I think at this point I'm going to hold off on a "real vintage" sub like a 5512 or 5513.
For the time being, I'm in the process of acquiring a 14060. This should hold me over while I hunt for a 5512/3 later on. Now the fun part begins, strap ordering time! Need to figure out if I should start a new thread or continue in this one. Based on my reading/researching, I need the following: -20mm straps -no need for 'tools' as I can just use toothpick to compress the spring bars since the 14060 has holes in the lugs Do I need to get newer springbars? Or a heavy duty set? If so, what are the specific recommendations? Thanks! |
