New warranty card

I just picked a new BLnR today and had two questions.
- does the AD hold on to the warranty card to be mailed to you? The AD where I purchased it told me it gets sent to Rolex and Rolex will mail it to me. Is this correct? Also what shoukd be in packaging with the watch?

Thanks,

That is not my experience. The warranty card came in the box with the owner's manual and other documents, and my AD went through it all with me (and filled out the warranty card) before I left. Other dealers may have other ways of doing things, but this forum should be able to give you the lowdown on what is the "normal" procedure.

I have heard of it before but it's never happened to me.
I do however know, that sometimes, a watch will arrive at an AD before the warranty card. Especially with newer models.

Thanks for the responses. I was surprised when I was told that, but I figure it's a reputable AD( Reeds). However, I will follow up with them today.

ADs sometimes hold back the card in case the customer wants to return the watch after a day or two. Or so I have read. Might get more answers in the main section. This is not a vintage issue.
