Nope. The 5513 is too much to get the red lines and this is from someone with a DRSD. If you can afford to put the 1665 mk1 plus cash then thats a different question.....

No for me. A good gloss 5513 is very hard to find. Besides, that bart alone is about the same value as drsd mk4. Gloss has been crazy stupid price while drsd price is not going anywhere

Guess the problem is in vintage we all want to find the most perfect example
My rule is that I only buy watches I am gonna wear and not just to own it . . . So in my case I would not trade but save untill I got the money . . . in this case a small stack of 100's . . . . Just my .02

depends what n how you are collecting ... the edge damage on the bart would drive me crazy as would the hands if the watch was a collection piece ...but if its going to be a wearer no biggy....similarly the drsd that you are considering going up to.. the dial has to be superb...no edge chips....
i know we are often at the point where forum collectors don't see the wood for the trees, they are so busy worry ing about 'unploshed cases' ..but for collecting the dial and condition is BY FAR the most important thing in determining desirability and value, both now and future . personally i think logic says the gilt and the 1665 is the best buy ...but if you had all in front of you there is something very special about a drsd that is hard to describe and would make it very hard to pout down..... I'm struggling on your maths a bit though...the gilt and a loose white should add up to about the price of a good drsd watch only ...if you are talking drsd with bnp you will be adding a substantial amount .i'd buy a drsd without bnp and save yourself $13-5k.......... |
