Help Again!!!
Hey all its me again... guess what happened today.. i was so excited about my watch that is on the way (hopefully) that i went to look at my wifes rolex and guess what i found?
and another picture chip in crystal is at the 4 mark. this watch was bought in japan for a gift and the person didnt want it so my wife got a great deal on it BNIB never been worn. she has been wearing it for about 2 years now. my question is this... can i take it to the local ben bridge and have them replace the crystal or do i have to send it to rolex to do that? also anyone have any idea how much it will cost? this watch is a boys size (sorry i dont know the correct term for it) and my wife doesnt know how this happened... is the crystal that easy to crack??? any help will be appreciated.. thanks! Congrats on a great find.
This appears to be the 34 mm Boys' size and the crystal can easily be replaced by any qualified watchmaker - no big deal. Good luck and keep us posted - JJ

And to answer one of your questions, crystals do get nicked now and then, if you knock them against something hard in just the right way.

Crystal replacement will not be very expensive.
The problem is that any authorised dealer will also insist on a full service of the watch when he has to replace the crystal.....standard procedure. So it all adds up in the end. JJ
