Cologne and watch bracelet/leather strap

Hi folks, just got this thought while spraying the cologne on me today. So, once I get ready for work or going out, the one area I spray my cologne is the inside of my wrist (besides the neck area), then I go and pickup my watch to go out.

I don't feel odd to wear a bracelet right away but when it is leather strap, I feel - should I wait for sometime(though I never wait) till the cologne dries out on my wrist. Will the cologne ruin my leather strap? Also, will it affect the bracelet in anyway?

Anyone thought about this? Any opinions?

I wouldn't know as I use Diesel fuel as a cologne.

"The insides of your wrists are a good spot for cologne"

Just look up anywhere, it will yield results.

If you care to read my post and the quote I'm replying to, you would probably understand( though I can't vouch for that)

I'm talking about Google search results yielding information that wrist is one of the preferred spots to spray cologne.

The alcohol can stain the strap, not as bad as perspiration

If I wear cologne, I spray it in the air and spin around in it while snapping my fingers. J/K But seriously, I just hold it far away and spray a couple mists onto the chest of my shirts and go with that.

That's not a very friendly response. This is a watch forum for asking questions isn't it

I'd rather have some answers from the members here than the all-knowing internet.

Of course you are correct.

But this does seem a logical place to ask the question.

I remember reading a warning in one of my watch manuals, to avoid spraying cologne near the watch as the alcohol in it will affect the strap and even the case.

Since then I have avoided spraying cologne on my watch wearing wrist, and a quick google search says that alcohol does deteriorate leather so just avoid spraying that wrist.

Thanks, I usually don't care with my bracelets but recently started using straps.. If cologne can damage even the case or bracelet, I guess I'll avoid spraying my left wrist now!
