Some insight please
Didnt want to hijack the 5726 vs 5711 thread but it is somewhat close to what I am considering for my next purchase. This will be my first foray into PP, having owned Rolex, AP, IWC and Tag.
I have narrowed it down to the 5711 and 5167 (SS bracelet not the tropical), they both have the same movement, similar case diameter, differences of course the design, tapestry of the dial (love both as they are unique in their own nature), am I missing something else? If you were in the market for a sportier watch (which could be dressed up) which would you buy as your first. (Unfortunately the AD here does not have either watches except for the 5164 so have not really been able to compare side by side in person) Thanks in advance. |

I am leaning more to the 5167/4 since seeing the vibrant blue dial on the 5980 AR, wish they would put that blue on some other SS models.

5711... That's where I'm going and currently own a 5167 on rubber but don't seem to be wearing it much

I think they are both great watches, so no wrong choice. My personal preference is the 5711 - look at the 2 pics above, it is beautiful. Also the nautilus bracelet is the finest I have come across.

I have both. I find the aquanaut "cooler" and "younger" and it gets a ton of compliments. While the nautilus is more elegant and classy.

I have an Aquanaut (on rubber) and tried on a Nautilus (silver/white dial) the other day. They both are fantastic and you really can't make a wrong choice. I'm thinking of getting the Nautilus. The major difference for me is the Arabic numerals on the Aquanaut. I think both will accomplish being a sportier watch you can dress up.

On bracelet, 5711.
The 5167 on rubber is different, depends on what else you have.

Thanks for the feedback so far guys. Looks like the 5711 is the clear winner thus far. Gonna make a trip down across the border to next closest AD shortly.

I think the 5980 AR is the best looking two tone chronograph on the market! And that dial....

Neil, what is the 5167/4? Can't seem to find anything on the net, if it's a 5167 with the blue of the 5980AR, I won't be anymore in the "Thinking of getting a 5167" like now but more "when am I getting my 5167", that would be a killer combo IMO and impossible for me to resist
