I think it depends where you are going. I recently went to the Dominican Republic and I didn't bring a Rolex but rather a PAM with a Rubber strap and a Omega Seamaster. When I went to Las Vegas I wore my SS DJ with white romans and a PP Calatrava (not at the same time). I'm going to London and Austria next month and will probably wear a Rolex not sure which one. About 20 years ago I lost a Rolex in Maui because I took it off to wear gloves with wrist straps while windsurfing.

I wear my Tag Kirium Chronometer. It is cheap enough that it is probably not going to get stolen. It is also not hardly noticeable as it does not draw any attention unlike my Rolex TT GMT. I've been to many countries including many third world countries and do not like to draw attention to myself. I do not make a good mark as I am very aware of my surroundings, I hide my money well, I watch how I dress and act.
