im starting to get interested in Panerai watches..

my question is:

1. whats the best starter Panerai..( price wise)

My first real watch was a steel GMT-Master II (ceramic) and I did not like the Panerai look at all. But your taste changes over time, and so suddenly... I fell in love and decided to buy one!

My first Panerai was the PAM183, and I quite like it! Plain and simple, and look good on all kinds of straps.

I bought it "pre-loved" for $4,500.

I was looking at 000,005,111,112 177 and other recommendations. All of them looks good. I guess It will now come down to the price.. I'm planning to buy from a trusted seller here..

Looking at your list, I would go for the 111. Sandwich dial, sub seconds, polished case, simple, elegant and reasonably priced.

I wanted an automatic with an uncluttered dial and date. The winner was a 312. It has good resale potential if it comes to that. Check it out.
