IWC price drop coming 5/1

Hello all, was talking to my friendly AD today and was notified that IWC will be dropping prices in the U.S. on May 1st. His estimate is close to 10% on all models. I was looking to buy an IWC on behalf of a friend and he told me to wait! Who says all ADs are bad? Thought I'd pass along the news in case anyone is considering an IWC purchase.

With brands lowering prices, I think Rolex won't increase prices anytime soon.

Yes, confirmed the same. He didn't get into specific percentages but definitely a price drop on 5/1.

well IWC is a fairly discounted brand and on new old stock--- probably won't affect bottom line unless you buying from an AD that does not discount or a Boutique only model

I have but I want the newer model with the subdial at 6pm... the 5449-06 (platinum).

Why do you think preowned MRs are bad, Tom? Granted you're probably looking at several thousand in service charges to get it cleaned up - Patek is around $7k.

The real question is whether they adjusted wholesale pricing or just retail. If they wanted to get a handle on discounting they would not adjust wholesale.

Ahhhhh this one

Had to pull out the catalogue lol

Well if true it would be knocked down to just over 100. With a good discount it would be a lot of watch for the money. Flawless dial as well

beautiful. I saw the one listed at govberg, but I think this one is better looking with the subdial at 6

If ever I get a minute repeater, probably never on fact, I would save up for a Patek 5078, it breathes class and elegance and has the most amazing complication IMO, don't know why I have such a fascination for MR pieces

I was just in Hong Kong in a great IWC shop and was told that the reduction was for European customers whose currency has dropped versus the dollar and other currencies.

Really? Seems to be just the opposite of what Patek is doing. Price decrease for the countries with stronger currencies and price hike for countries with a weaker currency.
