Finally after 4 days... Kangaroos!!!!

Steve, nice seeing you and thank you very much for the chocolate treat, my significant other had Skippy for dinner she ate Kangaroo meat for dinner... I have yet to talk to her... Skippy!!!!

Finally Kangaroos! Almost had to play golf to see them, these two images were captured on the Anglesea Golf Club, they would not let us on the grounds but we drove left coming out of the club house and stopped about 300 meters down, there was a bunch of them in the shade, we probably spend 45 minutes there... They are not as smelly as Koala bears...

There was a little one in her pouch

There are no fences in this area, they were just on the side of the road in the brush...

Then we were off to Bells Beach... Nice place.

Shortly after we made it to Melbourne... What a beautiful city I must take at least 4 days in the future to visit a few night shots and some of those captured with the 28/1.4 what a great lens (I am pretty sure those 3 below were captured with the 28/1.4 all @ 1.4, the first one with the 28/1.4 and second one with the 24-70 @ 2.8 and last one with the 28/1.4 @ 1.4)

Incredible pictures. All I can say is WOW! The kangaroos are an awesome looking critter. Did you put on the gloves and try to box one?

You've really got great skills with a camera.

Hi Patrick it was great to meet you and Stephanie

You must come back when you have more time.

Those photos are awesome, especially the one of the Eureka tower and the moon, and the midnight blue sky, just awesome

I can't believe you guys wined and dined on my Aussie Icon: the Kangaroo

I believe that we are the only, or maybe one of the few countries that actually eat their national symbol.

I have had Kangaroo meat a couple of times, the first time it was very dry, but second time was very tasty, I highly recommend it.

Good Kanga steaks can be as good or even better than the best beef. They're always really cheap, too :) We eat them quite often.

I've eaten Elk. No finer meal could be had. Quite tasty. If you get a chance to you definitely need to try it. I've also had rabbit - not my favorite dish. Have not tried Ostrich yet.

I guess if you're hungry enough anything is edible. Remember the plane ride in that ended up in the Andes? Gruesome.

Great pics, Patrick. Brings back memories of just over a year ago when I was there and saw those same sights. I'd go back in a minute, especially for Steve's hospitality.

Thank you, yea Steve makes me want to go back to Melbourne for a few days. For what it is worth Melbourne is a nicer city than Sydney but Sydney has a lot of nice beaches to make up for it. So it is give and take.

Ostrich is quite good but still too expensive for what it is.

That's right, quite tender and tasty a little like venison, I tried a bite - I could get use to it

It tasted a little like venison, like deer but there was so much sauce on it you it was hard to tell, and it was as tender as beef cheeks.

Very nice meeting you Steve, and thank you so much for the treat. I have one full day left in Oz and then it is time to go back home... Bummer I wish I could have spent more time in Melbourne I just had no idea how nice of a city it was... I'll be back probably before you think I will.

I imagine elk would be something like Bison maybe, and I love bison. I haven't even tried venison before. I have tried goat though, and really did not like it at all. I've also had chicken feet once. Not tasty!!
And as for that particular plane ride, I don't remember, but I can only imagine!
