Oysterdate precision green dial real deal?
Hi
I'm in the process of buying my first Rolex and becoming one of "you" guys. Came across this (in my eyes) beautiful watch. But I started wondering if it's the real deal. Because A: I don't know what to look for. And B: This is the only one I came across with a green dial. See pictures here: http://imgur.com/a/UvzHV Here are the details the seller added: 5072 Movement: Manual winding Case material/type: Stainless steel 34 MM size Bracelet material:Steel Year: c.1967 (serial 2406xxx) Condition: 1 (mint) Gender: Men's watch/Unisex Location: United States, California, Beverly Hills Price: $3,250 (= £2,083) No box, no paper Hope you guys can help me out! Thanks! http://imgur.com/a/UvzHV |

OP, the serial number indicates a 1969 date (here's a link to date codes: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=54362).
If you are looking specifically for a reference 6694 Oysterdate Precision, you can find some on this forum from time to time in the classified section. Just search for 6694. Here is a link to one that currently available (http://www.rolexforums.com/showthrea...highlight=6694). If you are looking for Rolexes in the $3000 range, you can find some nice Datejusts in the classified section (references 1601, 1601x, 162xx). I'm sure the vintage experts will add their comments on this nice-looking vintage watch with a green dial. |

Cab56,
Thanks for your input and suggestions on alternatives! Very helpful information. Those Datejusts look great as well. Now I've got more comparing to do haha. |

You're welcome. Enjoy the search!! A Rolex is a watch that will last a lifetime (I have my father's watch from the 50s and it runs perfectly).

Thanks for the advice/warning guys. Think I've already found my "match" here in the classified section. Hopefully I'll be posting as a proud owner soon.
