1978 Rolex with 1977 wristband still vintage?

Hello,

can a 1978 Submariner 5513 with a 78360-580 steel wristband taken from a 1977 Oyster still be considered vintage? Back the in the seventies when these watches only cost a small amount of money it seemed to be pretty normal to change wristbands. So my father wanted the 5513 in 1978 but didn't like the original wristband and asked the jewelry clerk to mount the wristband of a 1977 Oyster to it which was lying next to the 5513 in the showcase.

No biggie back then but today it would still be originally vintage or not? Or is it even heresy?

Thanks

Dennis

Love the 5513 , true classic- vintage if you will - the head makes it vintage , many wear on straps , you can always find the " correct" bracelet if that's important to you

Absolutely vintage. If you have the original paperwork mentioning the bracelet, that would also be a bonus.

Do you mean "vintage", or "original"..

Of course they're both vintage.. Without paper showing that a different bracelet was put on most collectors would prefer a 5513 to have a typical Sub bracelet..
