16750 Matte question

Can one (some) of you GMT experts tell me what year the 1675 switched to 16750 and which years the 16750 had a matte dial, are there as many variations on the 16750 matte as on the 1675? Also I have abundant resources on the variations of dials on subs and sea-dwellers but don't know where to find a similar resource for GMTs
Thx in advance

You can go to those websites and they have timelines and then you have to try to figure year of production.. THEN what does that mean? For example, GMTMasterHistory says 16750s were available in 78 but some guides say that year of production is around 5.4 mil... WHAT! so then... yadda yadda yadda ... and you are back to square to one..

I think you are safe with a 16750 matte version from Low 6 mil to low 8 mil - period! Otherwise, you have a watch with a story... Meaning, some say they have 8.5 8.6 + original matte dials... I just would say, yadda yadda yadda..

Unlike the several 1675 versions, there are only a couple 16750 variation dials and you can see them here:

1675 dials variations can be found at this thread on RVF:

There are a couple GMT dial threads here in the reference section. One that I posted and one that Orchi posted.

GMT 16750s began around the 62XXXXX serial number and continued through the transition period around 8.4 million or 8.3 million - depends who is giving the opinion. Years would be 1980 - 1984.

If you want to discuss GMTs sometime, I'm also in Dallas. Send me a PM.
