Gold filled model sweep seconds is a 2940 should be marked so inside case back. 3 piece smooth bezel 9k and 14k with stainless back is 3696.

Take off the bracelet, and the case reference and SN may be betweeen the lugs at 12:00 & 6:00.

I did. but there is nothing on the lugs
By the way how do I distinguish gold filled and solid 9k or 14k gold? There is no hallmark on the watch therefore I believed in gold filled Thanks |

If its hallmarked then its gold, no hallmark its gold plated/filled its possible hallmark on inside case back. But if its gold filled it will be around 14 microns thick, on today's gold plating you will be lucky to see 2-4 microns.

You should have a pic of the inner case back. Unless switched with another watch at some point, the case ref. should be engraved there. Of course that won't help elucidating the composition of the rest of the case.

Sorry to bother u once more
If the case is gold filled, what's the material of crown and bezel then? Solid gold or also filled? Thanks, Adam |

Not sure....likely the same. The crowns were most likely plated.

The bezel is not removable. It is brass with gold fill like the rest of the case. The crown is possibly filled or solid. It's just a thin cap over the base crown anyway on all of them. It can be peeled off on the early crowns and often wears through.

Yeah, I kind of was thinking gold capped on the crown. I've seen a lot suffering from peeling of the cap.
