Just a little update friends:
I had the choice between a 1680 in great condition (no b/p, no bracelet) for 6k€ and this blue Tudor 79090 for 3.8k€ (1992, full set, 100% tritium, no mismatch).
I bought this:

Seriously, as much as i'd love to own a vintage Rolex, i just can't bring myself to pay those crazy prices. As a newcomer, i have the feeling that the vintage ship has sailed.
I came too late to the party so i have no choice but to eat leftovers.

Trade GMT 16710 for 1675 ?

I could not be happier with my decision to change my 16700 for my 16750. The matte dial is simply more pleasing to look at, in my humble opinion.

Charlie, why do you do this to me ? Just when i thought i was out...you pull me back in...
Fantastic piece !

A little clarification: when i mentioned "leftovers", i was not talking about Tudor. I am very happy with my purchase and if i had to sell my watches, my 16710 would go first.
I was talking about Rolex vintage pieces in very bad condition selling for a small fortune, pieces without box and paper, dubious provenance, mismatch, i wish i came to the hobby a few years ago, when prices were still "reasonable" and more choices available.
I am in love my blue 79090, it was not a compromise.

Well I bought the 16710 initially full set and like you I couldnt take my mind off the matte dials and plexi so sold the 16710 for a 16750 matte dial which has been my work watch last few years... Its a keeper
