Franck Muller Casablanca vs Cartier Pasha
Hello,
Looking for feedback and knowledge. I am looking to buy either a FRANCK MULLER (Master of complications) Casablanca (BNIB) or a Cartier Pasha Two tone (BNIB). I may buy both or neither. I love a fine timepiece. I also like a time piece that when I no longer have use for it, want to clean out my supply, etc.........it can find a second home with relative ease. I am very familiar with Cartier , having owned several. I have never owned a Muller. I have a Santos, would a Pasha be more of the same? Please, serious posts only. I appreciate the love of a rolex, but I am looking to make my choice this coming week and value your help. |

I used to Have a cartier santos 100 xl so i know a bit about cartier. but i do think the franck muller would be better. I know the pasha is different and a great looking watch but i think the FM is classier looking and more refined. Considering you also have a cartier i would go for something different. Thats just my opinion

I've heard some disturbing things about Frank Muller Watches lately. The movements not being what they should be and quality.
Why don't you put the name in the search part of this forum and see what you can find out from members as this has come before recently. Terry Newton

Frank Muller after sales service is questionable, and with recently concluded upheavals within the brand, it's a little disturbing to think a timepiece in ownership may be quashed by squabbles of ego.
There have been recent reports of cheap Russian movements being used in their watches, and some of the complications are built from ebauches with in-house modules and modifications. Many of their pieces are built from a common base design, and I find their faddish approach to marketing a little tiresome. Finally, my wife had a Frank Muller that she gave to her sister in law and the watch stopped after only 2 years. Service was an astonishing USD700.00 in that the watch came back looking like it did when it went in, ie. scratches were not removed and the case not re-finished. It was sent back after we complained strenuously. My story is not the first like this. |

I have a Crazy Hours (SS), the movement apparently isn't that complicated, it's just a slight modification to an ETA base movement, I don't really mind at this moment, it's a really fun watch though it rarely gets noticed.
I would go with a nice Casablanca over the Pasha, but for the price, I'd get a Santos XL or Santos Chronograph.

I want to thank everyone for helping.
I read up on the FM info about the russian parts, internal battle, etc......... Since there was a lawsuit between partners, it's hard to say that I will allow that to influence my decision. When people fight, it's always going to generate deliberate negative feedback..............and I know for a fact that a SWISS MADE watch is a seal of quality. If some one would have proved that FM used cheap parts, they would probably have been raided by the police, lawsuits beyond imagination (these are not cheap watches) and i think legally it would be fraud. On the contrary FM sales are up. The FM watches either have an ETA movement (swiss) or a russian one? But, I will say that after reading about various opinions posted so far........(who wants to buy a second hand FM......no one?????????????????????????!!!!), I am inclined towards the PASHA. |
