Panerai 351 hacking seconds

Hey guys, I just received my first Panerai, the 351. Already love it, but I was under the impression the P9000 had a hacking seconds function when the crown was pulled out all the way. Mine just stops the seconds subdial from running, but does not reset to 0. Just wondering if this is normal, thanks.

Yes that is normal. A hacking seconds feature on a watch just means the second hand will stop running when the crown is pulled out. A zero reset function is where the second will actually go back to zero when the crown is pulled out, such as on the 233.

Oh, okay thanks. I saw the function in a video for the 321, which has the P9002 and thought the seconds reset would also apply to the P9000.

Thanks, that is definitely next on my list. Do you have any recommendations for 3rd party straps? Also deciding if I want to go with a deployant clasp, I've heard conflicting opinions on whether they were more/less comfortable than the regular buckle.

I have used Micah and Gunny for straps on my 351 and couldn't be happier.
Then again, my friend used Toshii for his ammo strap and also couldn't be happier. Lots o' options.

Toshi straps, Ted Su, Dangerous 9.

Note: some of the custom / bespoke guys take a month or more to make your strap.

Panatime has some ready made variants if your want something now.
