The only Rolex model that average Joe can recognize on the street is DJ, IMHO.

DJs only. Some would recognize the Subs as well.

Where I live, the Rolex I see most would be a 36mm Two Tone Datejust with Fluted Bezel and Jubilee Bracelet. Mostly owned by older successful businessmen and their wives. Ask them about it, they just know its a "Rolex with Date" and know nothing else about the dial, movement, bracelet, casing, reference no. etc (heck, I don't think they even know its called a Datejust!). Very rarely do I see other models (even the Sub and the GMT). On the rare occasions that I do see a Sub and a GMT it is mostly on a younger person's wrist.

It would have to be either the Datejust, President, GMT or Sub.

IMO Joe Public would struggle to recognize many of the others (like the Sky Dweller) as a Rolex.

I don't think "Joe" on the streets has a clue between a Rolex and an Invicta.

My thought too. That's why I'd say DJ two tone.

It's a toss up between the Sub and the Datejust.

DJ..... Look at the sign you see on their stores and in airports etc. it is a clock that looks like a DJ. They use it as their brand image.

I have to agree with others, TT DJ fluted bezel with jubilee bracelet and don't forget the gold dial. Bar none the most recognizable Rolex that their wife probably bought for them. Also, the most copied look as well, I see lots and lots of makes that look like this.

The general public is pretty unaware of watches in general. It will probably get worse because so many people don't wear a watch any more. I was watching a college football game last year and the announcers were freaking out because a player was wearing a "gold Rolex" during the game. It was obviously a gold G-shock, but they associated gold watch with Rolex. They were only off by about $37,020.

I'd say it's pretty much an even tie between SS Sub and TT DJ36 Jubilee

Date Just, Day-Date.

I don't think the Sub is close. For people vaguely into watches? Sure. But not average Joe.
