Icon5 Hamilton Pan-Europ Automatic

Anybody got one of these? I'm interested in reports of how it wears and runs.

Thanks!

That's a very sporty and handsome watch. Thought about it once and decided to put the $ towards something higher up on the food chain. Will be interesting to see if someone owns one.

I like the retro look, and there's some heritage behind it. Movement seems good...80 hr power reserve. I think the AD price here in HK after standard discount is about us$800. I'd probably put it on an aftermarket steel bracelet like this one (pic found on the internet).

I've always liked them but never had the chance to try one on. Interested in hearing from owners as well

I don't have one, Adam, but I see it is on sale for under US$700 at: http://www.timepiece.com/hamilton-watch-h35405741.html

I put it on briefly at an AD in Toronto and it was one of the most comfortable watches I've ever worn. FYI.

Had one on at a watch event once. Everyone was fawning over the Panerai rep but the Hamilton rep was far more interesting. He let me wear a Pan Europ while we chatted and it really has some heft and presence, but in a non-pretentious way. I've always enjoyed it.

I have looked at that watch 1000 times on the web and just never pulled the trigger. Great watch from the hours of research I did.

I was going to buy that watch when I sent out my daily wearer of 34 years for service. Then some guy introduced me to the Tudor brand. I like that Hamilton.

So you're saying it would be a bit ironic if I bought one, Ralph?

I'm wondering if the Ranger's straight endlinks would fit in that space.

Thanks for the feedback so far everyone.

I think it looks pretty neat. It reminds me a lot of my Aquadive. For ~700 it's a lot of watch. But I can't help but think of the watches you could get for a few hundred more.

Plus Hamilton isn't what it used to be. American watch movements were beautiful. Now it's just another name plate for Swatch.

Thanks for the input Greg. The H-30 movement actually looks pretty good to me for the money...specific to Hamilton (kind of in-house in a way) with an 80-hour power reserve. If only the bezel had a 12 hour timezone bezel instead if the dive timer....

I'm sure the movement is worlds better now, I just enjoyed how well they finished the vintage American ones. It's quite unfortunate the US stopped producing watches.

Follow you heart my friend. I'd go for a THC first, oh that's right, you have that already.

Can't imagine why the straight 22mm endlink would not drop right in there. Really is a nice looking watch.

I don't have it but I'm in the market for one. Have you seen seen this one? http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...LL._UX342_.jpg

I like them both but I'm torn.

Just picked one up. So far, I can say I really like it. The movement is decorated nicely and it's very comfortable to wear with the supple strap with deployant... haven't tried it on the Nato yet. One minor issue I have is with the bezel... it is very stiff and hard to get a good grip making it difficult to turn. Haven't had it long enough to check accuracy yet.
