I believe most companies , NRMA , Gio etc will insure your valuables , you will need a valuation though! Shop around for the best price .

Interested to know too. With RACV at the moment and they charge like 10-13% of insured value p.a. for all risks.

I changed my contents insurance from RACV to Cyclecover to specifically cover my bikes however this policy also covers watches, computers and jewerly. The maximum value of an individual item is up to 10K for unspecified items and the goods are insured both in Australia and OS.

Consistent with the RACV on a total sum insured basis however RACV has a non specified items maximum of $1000 and is thereore useless for watches.

i can see an opportunity for jeweller insurance, since majority of those luxury watches, etc are going uninsured due to stupid rates from the big boys

I've insured my pateks and rolexes with GIO Platinum. Scarry thing is that the value is small house LOL. Yes insurance costs but it comes with the territory I guess.

Regards
Rene

My son has a vintage violin and the insurance premium p.a. is approx 20% of replacement value so 10-15% for watches is already "cheap"
BTW, for jewellry, the valuation for replacement value vs resell value is like 2.5:1. I don't know the ratio for watches but couldn't be too far away.

Consider looking for a 'reputable' Insurance Broker that will do all the foot work for you. For a small additional cost they will source the best possible policy for you.
