Thoughts on strap change?
Hi all. I have a 5396 in white gold. The AD sent me a beautiful authentic Patek alligator strap in golden brown that would go great with a belt and shoes I have. The strap itself is only about $400 CAD and I'd be looking at about another $5000 CAD for the gold clasp and other hardware. This would allow me to change the strap on the fly and allow me to coordinate better. I'll post pics of the strap when I get home. Thoughts?

The clasp is a great addition but you won't make anything close to that if you decided to sell or trade the watch in a few years

My wive has a 4936R with 3 straps (white, beige & purple). Each has it's own buckle & spring bars. The spring bars were 150.00/set, straps 450.00 each & buckles 650.00 each. I realize there is a little more gold in a men's buckle but that is a heck of a difference in price.

I went to the AD and it turns out the deployment strap is very easy to remove. You can get them to show you how. So the price of a different colour croc on my 5396 will be a lot less than 1k and significantly increase the wearability for minimal inconvenience.
