Panerai guy dropped the ball and got a Rolex

So - Rolex was never my thing, but I kept looking at the ceramic bezel and just took the plunge. This watch is a tank, pretty impressed with the construction and all but I do find its losing 2-3 seconds a day, and if I take it off, after day 2 im losing 8 or so seconds a day.......I feel like I want to have it adjusted, but I hate the though of someone opening my watch for a few seconds. I have worn it in a rotation, and not been using a winder so its not totally driving my crazy but still....

Anyway here are some shots...

Congratulations on a beautiful watch! Others are reporting improved timekeeping once the watch breaks in a bit. If yours was brand new, you may want to give it a month or so.

Welcome!

mine is also at -3 seconds / day. I set it 1 minute fast on the first of every month so that the watch is never more than a +-1 minute throughout the month.

Congrats on the tiny new watch

I find mine run more accurately with the stickers removed. Might be worth a try

Congrats on your GMT! I wouldn't necessarily say that you dropped the ball though. :)

I'm working up to get the IIc myself. There something about your pictures that really show the beauty of that watch!

Face up to it.

According the the test results, your Ca. 3186 movement will gain or lose depending on how you place it when you're not wearing it. Here are the deviations (in seconds per 24 hours) recorded in the Rolex Edition of WatchTime:
Dial up +2
Dial down +3
Crown up +2
Crown Down -1
Crown left +2 (Hanging vertical)
Crown right -1
Greatest deviation of rate 4
Average deviation+1.2

Sooooo. if you're finding it gains too much, lay it crown down at night, for example.

One example, not every movement of course. WT test results doesn't mean they all can be expected to act this way. They acknowledge this.

The fast beat movements may or may not respond to rest position variations. You need to experiment with each watch to see how/if it responds.

I have one Panny now and many in the past. To each his own. Have to say that the GMT-IIC impresses the hell out of me too. If I lost all my watches, the first $6k would go toward a SS GMT-IIC.

Thanks for the compliments guys - imagine how itll look ones I get the courage to take the plastic off :)

I usually never take good pics, but this watch doubled the cameras megapixels I think ahaha...

I didnt notice it looked good though, the depth of the numbers on the bezel and the coloring is real nice.

I think I need to take a similar pic of my IWC, the gold numbers will really pop!

Thanks again - playing with the timing....im general its keeping time and not losing to the point id notice unless I am using a timer to check it.
