Exactly my same feeling. Rubber is hotter than steel, and NATO or any other braid soaks up sweat and is also hotter than steel. Moreover, I can't find anything enticing about those cumbersome NATO straps with the absurdly long end that must be tucked in.

My OP has a non-adjustable bracelet. So when it's hot it's tight, and when it's cool it is just how I like it -- a little loose. Why can't OP bracelets be adjustable? My one complaint. I don't like straps or leather or rubber.

I'm with you. I hate heat...probably because I grew up in the frozen land of Minnesota. In weather like this my steel watches start to annoy me a little, but not enough to stop wearing them. If it really bothers me I put on my titanium GS.

I wear my stainless steel Rolex Airking 116900 in hot days, I never feel it's sticking onto my wrist. It's a very comfortable watch to wear. In rotation, I wear leather strap Vacheron Constantin too. It's half as weight as Rolex. When switching to Rolex next day, I don't feel like it's too heavy

Don't think it is an issue with an adjustable bracelet. The heat and humidity has been terrible here in Qatar the last few months and is set to continue for another month yet. My biggest problem is getting to sleep at night because construction workers are not allowed to work in the heat of the day and they are working through the night on a new apartment building directly opposite mine.

I always wear my rolex's on a bracelet in the summer and a leather band in the winter. The bracelet to me is much more comfortable in the heat. I borrowed a bluesy sub today on a bracelet in 95 deg heat and it was awesome. Felt better that a president or jubilee bracelet for some reason. I should also note I use a hirsch case sticker on both to keep the watch head from moving around and on center.

No problems at all, prefer stainless any day over a piece of uncomfortable inflexible plastic resin.

The heat doesn't bother me. Into the shower to clean more often is the only difference.

The glide lock on the SubC is perfect for the summer.

I had this problem when on holiday in Australia. Due to always having loads of sun cream on my ceramic bezel was constantly greasy and I was constantly washing it
This I find the Sub C fantastic in the heat but I found my DJ to be a little uncomfortable when my wrist swelled in the heat with no adjustment available. |

Heat + Humid = Discomfort
Now that I've got a couple of watches on straps, not NATO or Rubber, I learned a trick. Maybe not new to many, but 100% beeswax rubbed on the strap's inner side leather lining yields a more comfortable experience on hot humid days. It also reduces any absorption of perspiration. I do this with the strap off the watch: warm strap up to approx.120° and gently stroke the beeswax into the lining. There are other silicone waterproofing leather treatments or mink oil, but they can irritate some folks with sensitive skin. The beeswax can be worked into the leather and then buffed with soft cotton rag or microfiber cloth. Just my DIY solution for sweaty Summer and strapped Rolexes. Of course my other option is to switch to my Omegas on bracelets that are much lighter for the Summer.

I'm from Buffalo originally, and I'd honestly prefer snow vs. the humidity of a summer in DC, in spite of how long I have been here. Never gotten used to it, so I'm with you on that. I wear my Bonetto Cinturini rubber NATOs on my Tudor BBN for weekends at the beach in these parts and it works fine. It hardly staves off the humidity and it can get hot under there, but at least they're easy to clean. |

On days like that, I find the lighter weight Explorer 1 works well.

NATO if it bothers you. And yes, the humidity does effect my comfort level.

If it adjusted perfectly to suit your wrist and you wear it about your wrist bump on the top of your wrist , it should feel great, and should wash easily at the end of the day.
Plus, the Metal strap doesn't smell like sweat, after a long day like a material strap.

The most comfortable watch I've found to wear during high heat/humidity is the Pelagos.
I tried it on back to back with the Pep-c and the Smurf in Louisiana with both heat and humidity and I couldn't wait to put it back on the wrist. Now...that is not to say I wouldn't wear a gold GMT or Sub just b/c it's hot outside... |

6 years in Middle East and summer with 55 C degrees under the belt. Now cooling down in Singapore where temp rarely goes above 40 C.
Anyway. Never had a problem wearing watch on bracelet. Occasionally switch for NATO but rather for coolnes factor than any other reason. |

The Hirsch James is fantastic. I also like the rubber RAF from Benetto Cinturini, shown below:

I live in a tropical country, even if it rains its still quite warm. All i can say is that easy link is a brilliant idea, and the glidelock a stroke of genius
