No need to correct my commentary on your attempt to one up my corrections as i'm not in the correct grammar mode at this time. Please see the below edits and responses. This is fun.

If Paul is in a sharing mood, help yourself to some of his popcorn – you can butter him up by commenting on how lovely his Richard Mille are…and no, that definitely isn’t a euphemism! |

Did someone understand the point of the thread? And yes I read through the entire post, maybe it's because I'm french, but can't imagine all that was really needed to ask about what is the best chrono, there's gotta be something else, but didn't get it.
So my choice for a good chrono, 5270R, 5370P from PP, or from Lange the Datograph line, any model within that line is fine. Sorry if I made grammar mistakes, I rarely speak english |

i like the 5170G, it has qualities of many vintage pieces with a modern movement and size . ___________ p.s. to be clear "us" does not represent this member "as a collective"

A few other decent and modern chronograph options with pulsometer: previous 5170, Montblanc Heritage Pulsographe and Vintage Pulsographe, Lange 1815 chrono boutique edition. If you look into vintage I'm sure there will be many, many more options as well. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

The point of the post was to see if i'm alone in wonder about the history of measuring, tracking, and understanding time. It is interesting the different levels of involvement people have in any particular hobby. I enjoy learning about and breaking down to the fundamental level anything I am currently doing. For instance, what is a tourbillon? What is it's function? Why was it developed? Who developed it? How does it work within the mechanical inner workings of the watch? The evolution of the watch is fascinating in that it allows us an approximation and ability to create and maintain everything around us. The reasons that different people enjoy a common hobby is also of interest. In my opinion, one person's reason for their involvement in the hobby doesn't supersede that of any other. It's nice to see a group of people with common interests that share their joy with one another, no matter what the reason.
Do I want you to answer the tourbillon question? No. It was an example. It's who I am, if its not who you are that is cool. The other point is to gather opinions on which chronograph with pulsometer you'd prefer and for which reason(s)? I find that those who have experienced by diving into the pool rather than those who read about swimming provides better and more in-depth opinions. |

Sorry just checked and the Lange don't have it, maybe other models from them have it, but the Datograph line is the most interesting IMO... About watches most people here are really passionate about them, some have great knowledge, others have a little knowledge, like me, and some are learning, but one thing is the same for all, we all love watches |

Jay, we are having fun like you. I don't mind the your mom and jerking off comments in response to my posts but you shouldn't attack Karl (who is knowledgeable and has an enviable collection) because he has a picture of his watches for an avatar. If his avatar meant what you say it does then you would have to think half the members of this forum are like that.

My point is that whenever I reply to any thread or post, never will you find that it is mean-spirited. If you take it in that manner then you may simply want to ask what was my intent. People are who they are. They are not what you want them to be just because you think their intent is what you assume without asking them. So, no I do not think the members of this board are pretentious but thought my response to his useless comment was funny and in good humor. So what are you currently doing with your hands and did you check out that website? :) |

seems the OPs interest in watches is second to his interest in unrelated banter… its your topic but you have done little to steer it to the discussion.

Your typing style is a very hard slog, but as you are a doc we can only be grateful you didn't write that out for us to read.

He already told you. As did I. You were busy playing Freudian Shakespeare.
