For those interested, I was quoted 450€ by the RSC to swap the plat dial for the blue dial.

Here's my V serial YM 16622, always been a fan of the YM models, I used to own the Blue dial version but keep coming back to this Plat dial. Now that this particular version has been discontinued it will be interesting to see if they become a little more appreciated....

The 16622 has been discontinued and the newer version is 116622 with either blue or platinum.

I have to say I love it and it replaced my Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 2201.50 as my daily wear watch. I def learned a few things from this thread. 1) I want the red date wheel. 2) The blue face yachtmaster is really growing on me.
I have the same watch 16622 and 100% agree with you about the red date wheel and the new blue face. By the way is it possible to replace the platinum face for the blue one ?.

Some quoted $450 to do the dial swap at a RSC.

That'll be for the 116622. A blue dial was never offered on the 16622 so I highly doubt Rolex would offer the swap.

It also raises the question of the Rhodium dial, if they'd change Platinum to blue I wonder if they'd change the dial and second hand if you wanted Rhodium.

It's actually my understanding that Rolex have discontinued the Plat dial 116622 also, their sales department confirmed that when I spoke to them today.
There was also mention of it here;
http://www.rolexforums.com/archive/i.../t-469507.html

Not sure why it still shows on their website though, my guess is that their are still AD's out there with stock so they are keeping it on their website a while longer, this information seems to have slipped under the radar, probably as it's not a popular model.

I joined TODAY with a 16622 platinum. The only thing I did until now was to change the original brazalet for the new glidelock clasp. Better and add value in my opinion. The next step is or to change the dial for the blue one or in case is were not possible I would try to get the red date.

Loving my YM 16622, I like how simple and classy the dial is. Its versatile and timeless to my eyes.

Wow is it the angle or has your red "Yacht-Master" writing on the dial really faded!? It's kind of cool and unique if that's the case. Just curious

LOVE the new two tone.

Somebody said earlier a 42mm would be a winner. Totally agree.

The angle and my poor picure taking skills are probably to blame. But its timely that you say that. I've never had it serviced and its currently on the way to RSC Dallas for a check up. Have a great weekend!
